General Guide on Talking Head Video Production Prices

Talking head video production price is more easy to determine than that of other types of video. That is because it is fairly clear straight from the beginning what will be visible in the video – talking heads, i.e. one or several people talking about specific subject and usually visible from waist up.  Below you can read a basic guide on talking head video production costs.

If you want to get a more precise information, please use our  video production cost calculator .

We also have a useful blog post about components driving video production costs.

If You Can Afford £700:

We can create for you a nice looking talking heads promo video. We will shoot for half a day in our studio or in your location (this may increase the price) and we will work on post production of this talking head video for half a day. The post production includes editing the footage, colour corrections, adding a royalty free and attribution free music track, adding static logo and some static text, exporting in all formats necessary. This video will look professional and nice, but will not have any animation added or any B-roll (additional footage of environment or any subject matter that is not the person talking to the camera).

If You Can Afford £1000:

This budget will allow you to make a professional looking talking heads video (or a longer talking heads video which requires longer shooting time). We will shoot for a full day or a half day (depending on the project) and we can shoot both in our studio as well as in another location in London (or elsewhere subject to travel fees).

We will also work at least one full day on the video post production.  This will include all the usual post-production tasks such as cutting and pasting the footage in the desired way, colour grading the footage, adding some background music, as well as simple animation of intro logo or other intro titles (this may or may not be possible with this budget, depends on the amount of footage that we will need to deal with), adding some static text if necessary and exporting to all formats needed.  This video will look professional and nice, but will not have any B-roll (additional footage of other elements which illustrate the topic talked about by the on-camera person).

If You Can Afford £1500++:

With this budget you can afford to make a very professional and expensive looking talking heads type video which will include not only the footage of people talking in front of the camera, but also the B roll or the footage of other people and things which illustrate the subject matter discussed in the video. Subject to budget changes we can shoot the video for as long as you need and edit it for as long is needed too. We will do all the usual pre-production, production and post-production tasks, including planning, shooting, editing, colour grading, animation, music engineering and mastering.

HOW IT WORKS – Talking Head Video Production

Call/Email/Come Over to Our Studio

Please don’t hesitate to make first contact with CineEye via email or phone or even in person.  We can then discuss your vision and ideas regarding the talking head video project you have in mind. At this time we will give you an initial quote.

Preliminary Meetings and Briefing

When you feel we are the right company to create your video, we will arrange a meeting about the specific talking heads video project. In most cases you will meet with the project manager of the project at hand. This is the time when we will try to collect as much information as possible about your company, competitors, visual style preferences, target audiences etc (briefing).

Work Order Draft

After the initial briefing is completed we will send you a draft work order (brief) or you can send your draft work order. The work order is usually created by both parties working together, because client informs about the ideas, preferences, budgets etc and the video producer adds the technical specification regarding how the result is to be achieved.

Final Formalities

When both parties are happy with the work order (brief), we will make ready all papers which includes final work order, agreement as well as invoice.

Authorisation to Start and Deposit

This is the time when client reviews paperwork and if satisfied gives the permission to start work. This is also the time when CineEye kindly asks to make the deposit payment which usually is 50% of the total project cost.

Groundwork (Pre-Production)

Next stage is when the real work starts. At this time CineEye will carry out all planning, organisational and groundwork tasks.

Shooting (Production Stage)

Only now is it time to do the actual shooting of the video. This can take 4 hours time to unlimited time depending on the size of the project at hand.

Editing, Colour and Effects (Post Production)

This is the time which is mostly spent in studio in our editing panel. This is also probably the most time consuming part of video production when we will undertake the video editing, colour correction and grading, sound design, motion graphics and other visual effects creation. Final output of this stage is the exported master video (first copy).

Delivery

Subsequent to post production process completion we will send the client the master video (preliminary copy).

At this stage you can revise the video and ask for any changes (if those do not involve additional shooting).

We will then carry out all the required changes and deliver the final master copy.

This is also the stage when we will kindly ask to make the final payment of the total bill.

Now you can collect the master video from our studio. You can also request it to be sent via post or via any internet file sharing platform of your choice.

FAQ – Talking Heads Video Production

I HAVE THE FINAL MASTER VIDEO. CAN I ALSO GET FROM YOU SHORTER VERSIONS OF THIS VIDEO?

Yes, of course you may get shorter versions. But this is an extra service and will be charged at rate of £45/h for video editing.

IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF COPIES I CAN GET?

There is no limit. You can get as many copies of your video as you need. We provide one copy in USB and one copy in (your own) external HDD or USB free of charge. Every next copy will be charged £15 per copy. Let us know if you need the video to be delivered in other formats.

HOW LONG YOU WILL KEEP THE RAW FOOTAGE?

We try to save your talking head video footage as long as we can, but we guarantee only 3 weeks of storing it after the final talking heads video has been delivered. That is why we recommend to take a copy of raw footage for your own records.

I WANT TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TO THE TALKING HEADS VIDEO YOU DELIVERED. IS THAT POSSIBLE?

During the post production process we will review the talking heads video together with you. This is the time to make the final decisions and to inform us about any changes you require. If you want to make further changes after the final delivery this can be done at rate of £45/h for video editing. If you require to shoot additional footage, then we will have to prepare a new quote for you.

HOW QUICKLY CAN YOU PRODUCE A TALKING HEADS VIDEO FOR US?

Usually small to medium size talking heads video production projects can be finished in time period between 3 weeks to 2 months depending on the project.
