Teleprompter or auto-cue is a piece of equipment that shows script in front of a camera so that it is still possible to film without camera being obstructed (this is done by way of special projection), and as a result the person being filmed can read text while looking directly into the camera. It is good to have a teleprompter, but mainly for very busy people. Generally it is advisable to speak without teleprompter or even without a script, as this will give a more genuine impression.
