We are welcoming today a new member in our company – and that is our new camera Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K. Yes that’s right – video people have strong feelings towards their cameras and we are no exception. Good equipment is not enough for a high quality video production, but it sure is necessary.

In addition to that the new URSA also features 15 stops dynamic range. For those of you who are not filmmakers – dynamic range is the level of camera sensor sensitivity to light which is measured in stops. The more stops of light the camera can “perceive”, the more detail you will see in all areas of the video from the most brightest highlights to the most deepest shadows. And it is one of the major parts in creating that cinematic look of footage that cannot be achieved with lower level cameras. Another feature allowing to achieve that cinematic look is the capability to shoot at up to 120 frames per second – for those impressive slow motion shots.
And last but not least – the Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K has is it’s compact lightweight body that makes shooting comfortable and easy for smaller crews such as ours.
As you can see – we are very impressed and we think that Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K camera is a very essential addition to the kit list of any promotional video production company in London and worldwide.
I love this camera and was about to purchase it. I wish Blackmagic design would also make a smaller camera…
The features of this camera seem cool! Can I use this camera for professional cinematography and screening it in cinema?
Yes, Blackmagic URSA mini 4.6k can most definitely be used for professional cinematography and will give you an output good enough to be screened in cinemas.
Thanks for sharing this. Always interesting to see the behind the scenes of video production.
